James Edward “Jimmy” Leavins, 66, a resident of McIntosh, Alabama passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 28, 2016. He was an auto mechanic and enjoyed fishing, mechanical work, watching western movies, country music and model cars. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Frances Leavins; spouse, Martha Bullock Leavins; three brothers, Larry Leavins, Tommy Leavins and Johnny Leavins. Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Vanessa Leavins Weaver, Paul (Mira) Covington, Jimmy (Kim) Covington, Dorothy Covington, Rosilynn (Noel) Reed, and Ann (Butch) Randall; 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; sister: Deborah Ann Hale and sister-in -law Elizabeth “Beth” Leavins; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews along with other family, special friends and neighbors. The wake will be from 6-9 pm Monday, May 30, 2016 at Freeman Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 10 am Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Freeman Funeral Home with burial following in Brook Cedron Cemetery in Fairhope, Alabama.
