James William Edward McAdams, Jr., a resident of Charity Chapel, passed away January 25, 2022. He was 75 years old. Mac, as he was affectionately known, was a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher at Charity Chapel Assembly of God Church for over 40 years. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the MSO 520 Alacrity. He was an avid Alabama Football fan and loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Mac was preceded in death by his parents, James and Iris McAdams; and two sisters, Linda and Robin.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beautiful bride of 51 years, Mary McAdams; children, Hope Snow (Cory), Kimberly Driver, Alishia Rivers, and Faye Newburn; grandchildren, Shelby Driver, Cheyenne Evans, William Driver, Kamdyn McAdams, and Jacklyn Faith; sister, Marquetta Hardin; a host of nieces and nephews that he loved dearly and who loved him dearly; and many other loving family and friends.
A wake will be held for Mac from 6pm until 9pm Friday, January 28, 2022, at Freeman Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11am Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Charity Chapel Assembly of God Church with Rev. Doug Fairchild officiating. Burial will follow in the Rivers Family Cemetery.
