James "Ryan" Mitchell

James Ryan Mitchell, a native and resident of Citronelle, Alabama, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017. He was 29 years old. Ryan was born June 11, 1987. He was a 2005 graduate of Citronelle High School where he played football and baseball. One of his favorite things to do in his spare time was watch Alabama football with his family and friends. Ryan always had a heart as big as the outdoors. You always saw him with a smile on his face. He loved to be around people, especially his family. He’d often be found playing his guitar or singing. For Ryan, music was an outlet for him to express himself. He was a sweet, loving person who will be greatly missed. Ryan was preceded in death by his grandfather, Johnny Chestang; and special cousin, Brent Voiles. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sydney Davis; children, Landon, Luke, and Kelsie Mitchell; mother and step father, Pat and Ed Turner; father, Bart Mitchell, Jr.; brothers, Scott (Brittnee) Mitchell and Logan Brooks; sisters, Lauren (Kenneth) Branch and Ashley Roberts; step sisters, Misty Turner and Jan Turner; mother of his children, Sarah Loper; grandmother, Faye Chestang; mother in law, Annie Evans; sister in law, Marlana (Chris) Thompson; brother in law, Curtis (Shantel) Reed; aunts, Leslie (Collie) Reed and Verna (Bo) Boothe; uncle, Alfred (Samantha) Chestang; and many other relatives and friends. A wake will be held for Ryan from 6pm until 9pm Tuesday, May 02, 2017, at Freeman Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 12pm Wednesday, May 03, 2017, at Sims Chapel Holiness Church with Rev.
