James F. Stockman, 73, passed away on September 8, 2023, at Mobile Infirmary Hospital. He was born on April 29, 1950. James will be remembered for his outspoken nature and cheerful demeanor. He possessed a strong-willed personality that left a lasting impression on those who knew him. James approached life with an old-fashioned charm and had a great appreciation for things from the past. One of James' greatest joys in life was his love for old movies and cars. He found solace in collecting memorabilia and had a particular affinity for NASCAR. However, his proudest accomplishment was his prized possession, a '57 Chevy.
James will be deeply missed by his loved ones. He is survived by his daughter, Leslie Cowart (Jon), and brother, William Stockman. He is preceded in death by his parents, CJ and Mary Stockman, as well as his sisters, Martha Hill, Betty Harrison, and Daisy Stockman.
A visitation service will be held to honor James at Lockler Memorial Baptist Church on Monday, September 11, 2023 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A graveside service will be held following the visitiation at Mount Vernon Community Cemetery with Rev. Roger Perkins officating.
James F. Stockman's impact on our community will not be forgotten. His cheerful spirit and passion for the past touched the lives of many. May we remember him fondly and carry forward the memories of our time shared with him.
