Jerald David “Jerry” Turner, 53, a lifelong resident of Citronelle, Alabama passed away Monday, May 4, 2015 at his residence. Jerry was an active member, Chief Greeter and Sunday School Superintendent at Bethel Baptist Church. His passion for his church ministry led him to make several trips to Guatemala on mission trips and worked tirelessly on the new sanctuary. He loved playing golf, attending or watching the Alabama Crimson Tide, the New Orleans Saints, the Atlanta Braves and watching NASCAR but missed his favorite driver Dale Earnhardt. Jerry raised many dollars for fundraisers to help organizations and people in the community by cooking all night some of the best Bar B Que and chili. He created Big 3 Bar B Que sauce. Jerry was the purchasing agent with South Alabama Utilities and his co-workers will miss the great meals he prepared as the head chef at company functions. Next to the Lord his family meant everything to Jerry. He leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Jenny Turner; mother, Eloise Turner; daughter, Erin Turner; son, David Turner; step-son, Cody Nidiffer; step-daughter, Amy Berry; brothers, Danny Turner, Randy Turner and Robby Turner; sisters, Debbie Canaan and Sherry Willman; grandchildren, McKenna and Owen; other relatives and friends.
