Jerry Cowden Lundy, Sr., a resident of Mount Vernon, Alabama, passed away August 27, 2021, on his 90th birthday. Jerry was born in 1931 to Leon and Olga Lundy. He was a supervisor at the State Docks for Terminal Railway for over 30 years until he retired. Jerry was also the former Mayor of the town of Mt. Vernon. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Joan Blondell Lundy; children, Jerry C. Lundy, Jr. (Emily), Sherry Elaine Bethea (Rod), Becky Lee McBride (Terry), Algernon Leon “Lonnie” Lundy (Sabrina), and Charles Merrill Simison (Melanie); a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. The family of Jerry would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Kindred Hospice for the kindness and compassion they have shown throughout this difficult time of loss.
