Jerry Lee Hembree, age 72, a resident of Citronelle, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at Providence Hospital of Mobile, AL. Jerry was born November 22, 1947 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He was the son of the late James and Juanita (Lucas) Hembree. He was married to Gloria (Dixon) Hembree for 50 years.

He retired as a Pipefitter Welder through the Plumbers and Steam Fitters Local Union 119 of Mobile, Alabama. He was proud of his work and years of Union membership. His greatest joy was teaching his grandsons and nephews how to Pipefit and Weld, teaching them an honorable trade.

Jerry was a member of Memorial Baptist Church of Citronelle, Alabama. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. He loved his family more than anything, and his greatest joys in life were with his grandchildren. When he wasn’t with his family, Jerry could be found enjoying a good card game with his buddies or on the lake fishing. He could be on the water fishing all day and never get tired of it. He enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports and succeed in life. He loved deeply and it was evident.

He is survived by his wife Gloria Hembree, two daughters: Melissa (Jeff) Mason and Kelly Hembree Barnett; five grandchildren: Jordan (Craig) Barbarin, Sawyer (Meagan) Mason, Morgan (Andrew) Barnett, Kennedy Barnett and Houston Barnett; two great grandchildren: Lilly Barbarin and Asher Barbarin. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Joe Bob Hembree and JimBo Hembree; his sister Joyce Burkett. He is survived by two brothers: James Wayne (Lois) Hembree and Jeff (Sandra) Hembree; and five sisters: Janice (Carl) Brooks, JoAnn (Sammy) Grice, Joan (Ronnie) Kyle, Judy Entrekin and Janie Smith; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

The Celebration of Life and Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Memorial Baptist Church located at 19655 Mobile Street N. Citronelle, Alabama 36522 with Rev. Dino Danzey officiating.
