John Edward Jones

John Edward Jones, a resident of Chickasaw, Alabama, passed away Friday, May 24, 2019. He was 70 years old. John made the most out of life. He enjoyed fixing up cars and selling them, and worked on the dairy farm for many years. He loved to be outdoors and sit on his porch to watch the traffic go by. John was a master at bartering. He would always collect aluminum cans to sell and was always willing to make a trade. John spent his life laughing and enjoying life with his family and friends. He laughed at adversity and was never afraid of any challenges thrown his way. He was forever 21 and always ran the show! John was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi Jones; great granddaughter, Zelma Mae Huffman; and parents, Drew and Jettie Mae Jones. Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Priscilla Thompson (Dustin); grandchildren, Sara Huffman (Andrew), John Huffman, Hailey Huffman, Daniel Huffman, Billy Jackson, Sylas Thompson, and Abigail Thompson; great grandchildren, Mason Huffman and Kabri Sisson; siblings, James Daniel Jones (Cindy), Brenda Seamands (Dale), and Ernest Ray Jones; beloved dog, Tater; a host of nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 1pm until the 2pm funeral service Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Hill Cemetery.
