John Phillip Byrd

John Phillip Byrd, a resident of Mount Vernon, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at his home. He was 70 years old. John was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. John was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Taylor; brothers, Mac Arthur Byrd, Ernest Sullivan, and Jeff Sullivan. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 44 years, Voncille Byrd; children, Christopher Cole and John Leonard Byrd; grandchildren, Dalton Cole, Darrian Cole, Sybil Cole, Ben Cole, Keagan Cole, and Jacob “Bad Boy” Cole; daughter-in-law, Lindsey Cole; siblings, Howard Byrd, Lem Byrd, and Jeanette Weaver; and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 10am until the 11am funeral service Saturday, May 04, 2019, at Never Ending Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Sullivan and Rev. Greg Kirkwood officiating.
