Joseph Cranford Middleton, age 71, a native and resident of McIntosh, AL, died Thursday, January 21, 2010, at a local healthcare facility. He was a member of McIntosh Baptist Church. He was retired after 40 years of service as a foreman at Champion Paper. He was a member of the McIntosh City Council for over 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, cooking and was an avid fan of Alabama football. He is preceded in death by his parents, Aaron Harrison and Clara Inez Middleton; brother, Nathan Middleton; sister, Jeanette Eliott; and brother in law, Frank Escueta. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Middleton of McIntosh; two sons, Joseph Brent (Tonya) Middleton of Tibbie and Barry Randall (Christy) Middleton of McIntosh; four sisters, Marcella (Jackie) Brown of Saraland, Clarice (Johnny) Weaver of McIntosh, Francis Escueta of San Antonio, TX and Juanita (Joe) Simison of Saraland; one brother, David (Julia) Middleton of Saraland; five beloved grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until the 2 PM Funeral Service on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at McIntosh Baptist Church with Rev. John Stone officiating.
