Joseph Hubert Lofton

Joseph Hubert “DoeDoe” Lofton, a resident of Mount Vernon, Alabama, passed away Monday, January 04, 2021. He was 57 years old. DoeDoe worked at Searcy as a mental health worker for many years. He loved the Lord and was a member of Lighthouse of Praise Church. DoeDoe enjoyed drinking coffee and spending time with family and friends. He also Loved to watch Alabama Football. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. DoeDoe was preceded in death by his mother, Sophie Reed; father, Erbert Reed, Sr.; sister, Lydia Reed; brother, Robby Allen Reed; and nephew, Wilbur Reed, Jr. Those left to cherish his memory include his brothers, Marvin Lofton (Deborah), Wilbur Reed, and Erbert Reed, Jr. (Eva); sister, Deborah Reed; special sisters, Starla Weaver (Alvin), Vanessa Weaver, and Paula Byrd (Dennis); aunts, Ola Sullivan (Carl), Maggie James, Cranny Lofton, Esther Byrd, Nettie Reed, and Roberta Reed; uncles, Clifford Rivers and Joe H. Rivers; nieces and nephews, Farrah Reed, Annie Reed, Jonah Reed, Griffin Weaver, Kirkland Weaver, Hali Weaver, and Breanna Reed; a host of other nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 10am until the 11am funeral service Friday, January 08, 2021, at Lighthouse of Praise Holiness Church with Rev. Ken Davis officiating.
