Joseph "J.W." William Johnston

Joseph William ''J.W'' Johnston, a resident of Calvert, Alabama, passed away at his home Saturday, January 29, 2022. He was 77 years old. J.W. was born July 20, 1944, in Fairford, Alabama, to Michael and Elizabeth Johnston. He served in the United States Army and enjoyed hunting and being outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Johnston; parents, Michael and Elizabeth Johnston; brothers, Samuel and Prince; sisters, Ester, Martha, and Mamie. Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Michelle Ross (Derrick) and Danielle Stringer (Charlie Smith); grandchildren, Devin, Zachary, Kennedy, Kaitlin, Ashland, and Elle; sisters, Rachel Sullivan, Linda Prine (Leonard), Anna Taylor (Armond), and Ann Carter; special friend and caretaker, Belinda Johnston; and other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1pm until the 2pm funeral service Monday, January 31, 2022, at Mount Moriah Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Toomey officiating.
