Joseph L Skipper, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on June 23, 2024. Born on September 13, 1954, Joseph led a life filled with kindness, dedication to family, hard work, and generosity. His loss is deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Joseph's impact on those around him was immeasurable. He was known for his kind heart and unwavering commitment to his loved ones. Among his proudest accomplishments were his family and the precious moments spent with his children and grandchildren.
In his free time, Joseph found joy in simple pleasures like fishing, watching westerns, and caring for his cows. These hobbies reflected his down-to-earth nature and love for the outdoors.
Joseph is now reunited in peace with his daughter, Jackie Skipper; his parents, CM and Ruth Skipper; his brother, CM "Skippy" Skipper; brother-in-laws RB Miles and Ed Flint; and uncle Maurcie Tucker. Their memories will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew them.
Joseph leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will continue through his surviving family members. His wife of 49 years, Nancy Skipper, stood by his side through thick and thin. Together they raised a beautiful family filled with love and laughter.
His children Jessica Johnson (Mike), Jody Skipper (Heather), Joshua Skipper, Jenia Weaver (Warren) will always carry forward their father's values and teachings. Joseph's grandchildren Sara Moss (Cameron), Shania Johnson (Steven), Savannah Johnson (Dalton), Kiersten Skipper, Ryleigh Skipper, Dalton Skipper, Skipper Johnson, Landen Skipper, Talen Skipper, Ryan Skipper , Levi Weaver, Lyle Weaver, Tenley Skipper, Tate Skipper will cherish the memories they shared with their adoring grandfather.
Moreover, two great-grandchildren Beckett and Brynleigh Moss brought immense joy to Joseph's life as he watched them grow alongside their loving family.
Joseph's brothers Gary Skipper (Kathy), Terry Skipper (Cookie) sister Linda Miles; sister-in-law Cherrie Flint; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives will miss him dearly but find solace in the cherished moments they shared together.
A wake will be held on June 25, 2024 from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM at Bethel Baptist Church. The Funeral Service will be held the following day, June 26, 2024 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Marvin Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Fellowship Cemetery.
