June Hattenstein

June Hattenstein, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on May 15th, 2023 at the age of 87. Her family and friends are heartbroken with her loss but find solace in the memories they shared with her.

Born on June 1st, 1935, June enjoyed a fulfilling life surrounded by loved ones who cherished her deeply. She was an avid gardener and found peace in nurturing nature. June's love for family was evident in the time she spent with them. Be it sharing meals or telling stories, she loved every moment spent with the ones she loved.

The family will recieve friends from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am funeral on May 18, 2023 at Freeman Funeral Home with Bro. Donnie Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery. 

June is survived by her children Mike Hattenstein and Pam Croley (Mike);grandchildren, Kristin Hall (Mac), Taylor Hattenstein (Mahaley), Katie Hatteinstein, Scott Croley (Amy), Craig Croley (Kelly), Josh Hattenstein (Scarlet), Brian Hattenstein, Ashley Smith (Levi), and Tabitha Beech (Ray); twenty-eight great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

June was preceded in death by her husband John William "J.W." Hattenstein, parents, Dee and Floyd Newburn, children, Rodney Hattenstein and Mark Hattenstein; grandparents, Susie and Will Underwood; father and mother-in-law Ollis and Amelia Hattenstein; brother and sister-in-law Hugh and Virginia Suggs.

June will be remembered by those who knew her for her gentle demeanor and infectious smile. She touched countless lives during her time here on earth. Her unwavering devotion to her family will always remain a guiding light for them. She will be deeply missed and her legacy will live on through her family and the memories they cherish.
