Kenneth P. Stagner, also known as “Papa Bear”, a longtime resident of Turnerville, Alabama passed from this life onto his Heavenly home at 11:35 pm on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center. He was 76 years old. He was a boilermaker, carpenter, farmer and a hardworking man. Kenny taught his family how to live off the land by farming and hunting. Kenny was a strong, honest, and trustworthy man leaving his family those same qualities. Kenny was proud of his children and all of their accomplishments. He was a wonderful grandfather and great grandfather. He loved each and every one of them, and in his eyes, they could do no wrong. Kenny never met a stranger, and he would welcome anyone into his home. He had a huge impact on the young men of the community, many would gather by his fireplace and beg of him to tell stories of his life or hunting stories with his old dogs. He was a longtime member of the Alabama Dog Hunters Association. Kenny enjoyed cooking on the weekends at the hunting camp and making memories with his family and friends. Kenny was one of a kind and truly enjoyed life to the fullest. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Ray and Ruby Iona Stagner; brothers, Ray E. Stagner and Edgar T. Stagner; sisters, Eunice Goodman and Gloria Collins. Those left to cherish his memories is his wife of 57 years, Patsy Stagner; children, Marlene Bailey, David Stagner (Misty), and Jennifer Lee Pack (Bobby); grandchildren, Taylor Lamont, Bryce Stagner, Tori Lamont, Jayme Lamont, and Wendi Marsh; great grandchildren, Kinzlee, Avery, Laken, Kyleigh, Alivia and Journey; other relatives and friends. The wake will be from 6-9 pm Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Freeman Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 11 am Monday, December 17, 2018 at Turnerville Baptist Church with Rev.
