Kenneth Wayne Brown, 61, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Springhill Medical Center. He was affectionately known as Ken, Daddy, Papa, Kenneth, Kenny, Uncle Ken, Brother, Son, Friend, Pughi, depending on how he touched your life. Ken was born February 17, 1958 in Waynesboro, Mississippi to Daniel and Carolyn Brown. He was a 1976 graduate of Fruitdale High School and worked at Olin Chemicals for 43 years. In his spare time, Ken was an EMT and volunteered with the Epworth VFD and Washington County Sheriff Reserve. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He was an avid crappie fisherman and deer and turkey hunter. Ken loved to cheer on his favorite teams, the Fruitdale Pirates, Alabama Crimson Tide, Atlanta Braves, and New Orleans Saints. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Ken was married for 41 ½ years to Reyna Coaker Brown; Father to Rebecca Lauren Brown – Stone, Kendall James Brown, Mark Allen Stone and Jordan Leigh Irwin; Papa to Abigail Klaire Stone, Aidon Stone, and Myleia Joy Stone; son to Daniel and Carolyn Brown; brother to Paul and Denise Brown, Phillip and Kathy Brown, Aaron Brown, David and Daph Brown, Lisa and Clay Baxter, and Eddie and Roxanne Coaker; grandson to Doley and Gladys Brown and Leonard and Hattie Pearl Smith; and son-in-law to Grover and Ethel Mae Mizell and Jimmy Coaker. Ken is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. A wake will be held for Ken from 6pm until 9pm Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at Freeman Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 11am Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at Freeman Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Grace Williams Cemetery. Online condolences may be given at www.freemancitronelle.com.
