Lee Johnston

February 1, 1973 — April 22, 2025

Semmes, Alabama

Arnold Lee Johnston, affectionately known to friends and family as Lee Lee, passed away on April 22, 2025, at the Mobile Infirmary Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 1, 1973, and was a 1991 graduate of Washington County High School.

Lee Lee was known for his vibrant personality; he was very outgoing, a true people person, and a skilled jokester who never met a stranger. His friendly demeanor and warm heart drew people to him, leaving a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to cross paths with him.

Lee Lee's love for welding and mechanics can be attributed to his father and Mr. Joe L. Price who taught him at Washington County Career Technical Center. Because of his training, he was able to keep all his motorcycles, four-wheelers, and boat motors running. He could always be found tinkering in the garage on all his toys.

Lee Lee had a variety of interests that brought joy to his life. He cherished moments spent on the water bass fishing, he enthusiastically supported Alabama football, and he relished rides on motorcycles and ATVs. Dining out was another favorite pastime that allowed him to enjoy his family. Lee Lee was a member at Sims Chapel Community Church and was always eager to attend any church that fostered a strong sense of God's presence.

He was a devoted father to Meagan Johnston (Justin Hollingshead) and Dylan Johnston (Payton Crowely), and a loving grandfather to his cherished grandchildren: Zoei, Lily, Phoenix, and Luna. Lee's family meant everything to him, and he took immense pride in the time he spent with them, reveling in the joy they brought into his life. His mother, Charletha Johnston; his siblings, Penny Lynn Lane (Gregory) and Kathy Jo Foster (Curtis); and the mother of his children, Katherine Ann Johnston; along with a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of friends, will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

Lee Lee was preceded in death by his father, Arnold "Coot" Johnston, whose loss he felt deeply. The bond with his father was significant in his life, and it is with great love that Lee is remembered.
