Linda Jo Holley, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on February 8, 2024, at the Mobile Infirmary Medical Center. She was born on November 14, 1958, and left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Linda's kind and compassionate nature touched the lives of many. She had a good heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to others in need. Linda's selflessness shone through in her dedication to her role as a mother. She took an active part in the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and was always present as the team mom for her children's sports teams. Her unwavering support and love for her children were truly admirable.
In her free time, Linda found joy in playing bingo and exploring different parts of the United States. She loved traveling around the country, immersing herself in new experiences and cultures that broadened her horizons. One of Linda's favorite pastimes was watching reenactments of Charles Dickinson books called "Dickens on a String." Above all else, Linda cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren. Family meant everything to her, and she created countless beautiful memories with those closest to her heart.
Her warmth and love will forever remain with her children, Patrick Smith, William Smith, Joey Smith, Jerome Smith, and Marc Holley; twelve adoring grandchildren; siblings, Patsy Ann Holloman, Peggy Cunningham, Walter Underwood, Sue Dykes; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, John Henry Underwood, and mother Marie Tindle.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 14, 2024, from 2:00 PM until the 3:00 PM funeral service at Freeman Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery.
Her presence in our lives will be deeply missed, but the memories she leaves behind will forever remain in our hearts.
