Mack Albert Byrd was a 65 year old retired truck driver and huge Roll Tide fan. He was a wonderful husband, dad, "Dadday" uncle, brother, and friend. Mack Albert Byrd, Sr. departed this life on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019 at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center. Mack was such a warm, loving, and great example of a man. He never met a stranger. He never watched a ballgame of one of his grandson's that he didn't like. The sun would rise and set on his boys and grandkids. He would go to the ends of the Earth to acquire their happiness. His wife Glenda was his whole world. Her every happiness was his desire. Mack was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Anthony & Sara Dell Byrd and Adrian & Gussie Lofton; and brother, Robert Byrd. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 45 years, Glenda; sons, Otis Byrd (Susan), Mack Byrd Jr. (Jodie), and Joe Brady Byrd; grandchildren, Destiny Byrd, Daniel Byrd, Treyce Byrd, Jimmy "Lil Jim" Byrd, McClain Byrd, and Emberleigh Byrd; great grandchildren, Ava, Taylia, and Levi; siblings, Mary Alice Byrd, Zack Byrd, Jackie Faye, & Dennis Byrd (Amy), Herman Lofton(Cindy), Elsie Weaver, Eva Holloway, Adrian Lofton, Rita Byrd, Amy Allday, Steve Lofton, Delia Rivers, Jack Lofton, Neal Lofton, and Lora Lambert; sisters in law, Mary Byrd "Wee Wee", Loreen Rivers, and Sadie Lofton; aunts, Rosie Byrd, Annie Weaver, Gennie Byrd, and Mama Ida Byrd; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many other family and friends. The family will receive friends from 11am until the 12pm Mass of the Resurrection Saturday, December 14, 2019, at Saint Theresa Catholic Church with Rev. John Coghlan, celebrant. Rosary will begin at 10:45am. Burial will follow at Byrd Cemetery. Online condolences may be given at www.freemancitronelle.com. Freeman Funeral Home – Citronelle, Alabama
