Marion Douglas Simmons

Mr. Marion Douglas Simmons, 70, a resident of Jackson, Alabama passed away Monday, December 22, 2014 at Jackson Medical Center. He was a Mason and insurance salesman for Liberty National Life Insurance. After retirement, he owned and operated the Dairy Queen and The Burger House in Jackson, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Simmons, and his daughter Gay Holland. Left to cherish his memory is loving wife, Esther B. Simmons; daughter, Donna Patterson; four grandchildren, Amber Holland, Chris (Heather) Holland, Lane Patterson and Austyn Patterson; four great grandchildren, Ty, Laken, Sawyer, and Brant "Tripp"; siblings, James Simmons, Randy Simmons, Rita Simmons, Carolyn (Ray) Beech, Doris (Freddie) Wheeler and Sarah Baxter; other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm until the 3:00pm funeral service on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Barton Turner officiating.
