Marsha Louise Carpenter Reid was born on February 3, 1951. Her life was defined by her career in nursing and her unwavering love for her family.
Throughout her career, Marsha was known for her compassionate nature and tireless dedication to caring for others. As a dedicated registered nurse, her focus was in geriatric care and mental health, touching the lives of many. Her role as a caregiver extended beyond the workplace, earning her the reputation of a loving mother to everyone she met. Colleagues and patients alike remember her warm smile and comforting presence.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Marsha found joy in simple pleasures such as fishing and doing crafts with her grandchildren. These hobbies allowed her to connect with family members in meaningful ways, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Marsha's passing on February 25, 2024, has left a void in the hearts of those who knew her. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Conrad Reid; children John Reid (Kim), Chris Reid (Karen), Portia Barnette (Eric), and Amanda Henderson (Lonnie); grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Everett Carpenter and Madeline Waldrup; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Marsha was preceded in death by her son, Jacob Reid; and parents, Everett and Portia Carpenter.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Freeman Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with a Rosary at 5:45 PM. The Mass of Resurrection to honor Marsha's life will take place on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church at 10:00 AM with Father John Coghlan officiating. Burial will follow in Meinhardt Cemetery.
Marsha's legacy of kindness and devotion will endure through the memories she created with those she loved. May she rest in peace.
