Martha L. Johnston Davis

Mrs. Martha L. Johnston Davis, 79, a native and resident of Calvert, Alabama passed away Friday, November 1, 2013 at her residence. She was a retired machine operator for Courtaulds and member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Elizabeth B. Johnston; husband, Lee Andrew Davis, Sr.; brother, Michael Prince Johnston; two sisters, Esther Orso and Mame Chestang and grandson, David Hammons. Left to cherish her memory is her children, Michael Kyle (Dot) Davis, Lee A. (Joan) Davis, Jr., both of Calvert, Alabama and Betty Davis (Fred) Crawford of Citronelle, Alabama; five grandchildren, Michael A. Davis, Vicki Kostelecky, Robin Davis, Andrea Lee “Missy” Davis and Stacy Rivers; five great grandchildren, Raigan, Kylie, Ashlyn, Joseph and Jayden “Jay Boy”; god child, Blaine Byrd; two brothers, Samuel Johnston and Joseph Johnston; four sisters, Rachel Sullivan, Ann Carter, Anna Taylor, and Linda Prine; and other relatives and friends. The Wake will be 6-9 pm Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Freeman Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 2 pm Monday, November 4, 2013 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Toomey and Rev. Paul Chestang officiating.
