Maxwell Byrd, Jr.

Mr. Maxwell Byrd, Jr., 61, a native and resident of Mt. Vernon, Alabama died Saturday, October 19, 2013. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, was a truck driver and member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maxwell Byrd, Sr. and Joyce Doris Weaver Byrd and sister, Pauline Everett. Mr. Byrd is survived by his wife, Nadine Byrd; two sons, Michael Chase Byrd and Steven R. Byrd; daughter, Valeca Annette Byrd; three grandchildren, Alyiah, Cheyanne and Kara; two brothers, J.T. Byrd and Donnie Byrd; seven sisters, Janice Mann, Odessa Back, Darlene Schaffer, Connie Poffenbarger, Beverly Byrd, Betty Hopkins and Lois Hopkins; other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 12 pm until the 1 pm Funeral Service on Friday, October 25, 2013 at Cedar Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Kendall Turner officiating. Interment will be in Byrd Cemetery.
