Mrs. Mazie Nell Gibson, 78, a native of Wilmer, Alabama passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at a local healthcare facility. She spent most of her adult life in Atlanta, Georgia, was involved in merchandising, even designing her own ball gowns. She enjoyed art and flying her own small aircraft, among her many other hobbies. She attended Fellowship Baptist Church prior to entering a nursing home. Nell did not want her funeral to be about her, she requested her burial service to be a call for others to come to Christ Jesus, for the saving of their eternal souls…for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand: to amend their ways, repent and be sorry - to accept Jesus Christ, who is the Way, The Truth and The Life - For no one goes unto The Father except through Him: The Beloved Son of God, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Mrs. Gibson was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Gibson and Sara Arvyzean Rester; and sister, Evelyn Yvonne Wilcox. Left to cherish her memory is her brother, Jimmie Gibson; and two sisters, Vivian Duval and Elizabeth Lois Tillman. She had no children of her own, but leaves behind many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews and many friends. The family will receive friends from 9 am until the 10 am Funeral Service on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Freeman Funeral Home with longtime pastor and friend, Larry and Arleen Walley officiating along with the chaplain of Springhill Hospice and Rev. Billy Ray Robinson. Interment will follow Fellowship Cemetery. Online condolences may be given at www.freemancitronelle.com. Freeman Funeral Home - Citronelle, Alabama.
