Melanie Dawannah Hammock

Melanie Dawannah Hammock, a resident of Grand Bay, Alabama, passed away Thursday, November 05, 2020, at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center. She was 52 years old. Melanie was born August 29, 1968. She was an LPN nurse for many years. She enjoyed going to church, traveling with her family on vacation, and dedicating her life to her son. Melanie was preceded in death by her longtime companion, Glen Cowden, Jr.; her father, George William Hammock; aunt, Lynn Stephens (Jody, Jana, and Jordan); and uncles, Gordy Reed (Christina) and Noel Reed. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Corey Hammock; parents, Mary Marcella and Keith Walton; aunt, Dale Dixon, Cayman Broc, Cayman Island BWI; brothers, Terry Hammock (Danielle) and Stephen Walton (Anna); sisters, Virginia Harrison (Glen) and Cheryl Roberts; nephews, Payton and Logan; aunts, Celena Marks (Russell, Stuart, and Kim), Judy Motes (Archie), Margie Turner (Ashley, Shaun, and Brett), Carl Reed (and boys), Wanda Sewell (J.D.), Tootsie Rivera (George, JJ, Mitzy, and Sally), Sylvia Weaver (Ronnie), and Margaret Jones; uncles, David Hammock (Susan) and John “Doc” Kern; , cousins, Toni and Jr. Reed; a host of other family and friends. The family will receive friends from 1pm until the 2pm funeral service Sunday, November 08, 2020, at Happy Gospel Field Holiness Church with Rev. Jonathan Davidson officiating.
