Meryl M. Stringer

Meryl Middleton White Stringer, 98, a lifelong resident of Citronelle, passed away Nov. 23, 2013 at a local hospital. Mrs. Stringer was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school, played piano, helped start Mohoba Baptist Church, and taught Sunday school at nursing homes. She was a loving Christian who loved to share the plan of salvation with others and studying the Bible. She enjoyed sharing her many talents with others, including sewing, flowers, painting, and dried flower pictures. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Stringer; sisters, Gertrude White, Mary Ransier, and Dorothy Ransier; brothers, Norton and Henry White. She is survived by her son, Earl (Beverly) Stringer; daughter, Janice (Sidney) Turner; brother, Harry (Lavonia) White; grandchildren, Eugene, Shawn and Shannon Stringer, West Turner, Lisa Wolf and Aline Sarnowski; ten great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. The Wake will be Tuesday, November 26, 2013 from 5 – 8 pm at Freeman Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 10 am Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Stan Clayton and Rev. Charlie Ransier officiating. Burial will follow in Brannan Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund, 16641 Prine Rd., Citronelle, Alabama 36522.
