Mildred Louise Owens, a beloved soul who touched the lives of many with her kind and loving nature, has passed away. She was born on December 3, 1943, and departed from this world on March 7, 2024.
Mildred led a fulfilling life as a Veterinary Technician for 13 years, where her passion for caring extended not only to animals but also to her family and friends. Later, she embraced the role of a homemaker for close to six decades, dedicating herself to creating a warm and loving environment for her loved ones.
Among the countless memories cherished by those who knew her best are Mildred's love for life, her nurturing personality, and her exceptional cooking skills. She will be remembered for the joy she brought into every room with her bubbly and happy disposition.
One of Mildred's proudest accomplishments was the unwavering care and devotion she showed towards her children and grandchildren. Her legacy of love and compassion will continue to live on through those whose lives she touched.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, James Owens; parents, James and Ruby Preston; as well as her sister, Ruby Ewing.
She is survived by her children, James Owens (Debbie) and Teresa Dueitt (Aaron); grandchildren, Jana Mattern (Matt), Nicholas Andrew Bradley (Jake), and Tiffany Mason (Ben); great-grandchildren, Sutton, Briggs, Ryker, and Andie Kate; brother, Bill Preston (Linda); a multitude of nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to Mildred's professional endeavors, she loved going to church and found joy in hobbies such as gardening, cutting grass, tending to yard work, spending quality time with her grandchildren, and assembling puzzles. These simple pleasures reflected her love for life's beautiful moments.
A Visitation in memory of Mildred Louise Owens will be held at Freeman Funeral Home on Sunday, March 10, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The Funeral Service will take place at the same location on Monday, March 11, 2024, starting at 11:00 AM with Bro. Tommy Ezell officiating. Burial will follow in Grimes Cemetery.
