Mildred R. Johnston

Mrs. Mildred Johnston, 72, of McIntosh, Alabama passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014. She was a member of Reed’s Chapel Baptist Church. She was retired from Olin Chemical Corporation. She was a loving housewife, mother, and grandmother. She was a special caregiver of her youngest daughter, Jessica Johnston Newburn of 18 years until her death. She was preceded in death by her parents Marvin Rivers Sr. and Abbie Anne Rivers; brothers Wayne and Lavert Rivers; and sister Alice Weaver. Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband, Jody Johnston of McIntosh; daughters Nancy Johnston Weaver and Jessica Johnston Newburn of McIntosh; granddaughter Morgan Amelia Weaver of McIntosh; Kenneth Weaver of Mt. Vernon and Wayne Newburn of Charity Chapel; brothers Marvin (Elnora) Rivers Jr. of West Virginia, Charles (Caroline) Rivers, Mart Rivers, Lamar (Evie) Rivers; sisters Nettie Lee Taylor, and Barbara Jean (Prentiss) Byrd, all of McIntosh. A wake will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Freeman Funeral Home from 6-9 pm. The funeral service will be at 12 pm on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Reed’s Chapel Baptist Church with Bro.
