Nellie Irene Reed

Nellie (Mother) Irene Weaver Reed, a resident of McIntosh, Alabama, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2019. She was 90 years old. Nellie enjoyed spending time with her family and community. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Cooper Reed; parents, Bill and Dinah Weaver; and three children, Kenneth Orso, Betty J. Brewer, and George A. Reed. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Terry L. Reed (Renee), Linda R. Whigham (Tim), Glinda R. Hawthorn, Sandra R. Hinson (Robert Hillman), Margie R. Tindle, Curtis L. Reed (Angie), and Donny Ray Reed (Renae); twenty-four grandchildren, fifty-one great-grandchildren, eleven great-great-grandchildren; brother, Duggar Weaver; and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 1pm until the 2pm funeral service Sunday, March 24, 2019, at McKenley Holiness Church. Burial will follow in Reed’s Chapel Cemetery.
