Nola V. Reid, 69, a native and resident of McIntosh, Alabama passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 4, 2017. She worked for Mobile Community Action and was a faithful member of Sims Chapel Holiness Church where she enjoyed praising the Lord. Mrs. Reid was a mother figure to the community and loved children, especially her great grandson, Dustin, Jr. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by parents, George and Edna Reed; husband, Wilbert M. Reid; daughter, Misty Reid; great granddaughter, Avery Snider; siblings, Eunice Orso, Donny Reed, Lester L. Reed, Murray N. Reed, Tim M. Reed. Those left to cherish her memory includes her daughter, Tynie Reid; son, Derrick Reid; grandchildren, Courtney Weaver, Dylan Byrd and Bailyn Rutledge; great grandchildren, Skylar and Dustin, Jr.; brother, L.T. Reed; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The wake will be from 6-9pm Monday, May 8, 2017 at Sims Chapel Holiness Church. The funeral service will be 2pm Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Sims Chapel Holiness Church with Rev. Willie Long, Jr. and Rev. Horace Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in Reed’s Chapel Cemetery. The family would like to give a “special” thank you to Susie Simmons for going over and beyond in the care given to Mrs. Nola for the past several years.
