Nora Maxine Connolly

Nora “Denzer” Maxine Byrd Connolly, 59, a native of Mount Vernon, Alabama and resident of McIntosh, Alabama passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Jackson Medical Center. Nora was a strong, tough lady who made sure that her family was provided for, especially during hard times. Nora Denzer would give the shirt off her back for anyone in need. She was also a loving caregiver to her sister, Juanita who passed away in 2017. She enjoyed gardening, working in the yard, sewing and cooking. Nora Denzer loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nellie Voncille Byrd; father, Charlie Ray Byrd; sisters, Ollie Byrd Palmer, Mattie Mae Byrd and Janet Juanita Byrd. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Irene Byrd Tomlinson (Jerry), James Brady Connolly, and Leroy S. Connolly (Christine “Tott”); eleven grandchildren; sister, Angela Byrd Stephens; brother, Michael Byrd; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 11am until the 12 pm funeral service on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Herr officiating. Burial will follow in Byrd Cemetery.
