Odell Frazier, 100, a lifelong resident of Citronelle, Alabama passed away surrounded by his family on January 5, 2016 at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center. He started working in the lumberyard in Citronelle and later worked as a welder for 25 years Alabama Dry Dock & Shipbuilding Company. He was an avid gardener and lived by giving away the first crop and the others would be plentiful. He was a member of Calvert Baptist Church where he seldom missed Sunday school and church. The community has lost a pillar that can’t be replaced. He lived by what the bible says to: Take care of the widow women and children. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie “Mama Ree” Frazier, left to cherish his memory his sons, Joseph (Rhonda) Frazier, Otis (Allison) Frazier, Ricky (Pam) Frazier, Darrell (Rachel) Frazier; daughters, Mildred Jones, Ardella (Elonzo) Ainsworth, Ruth (Wilson) Johnston, Lucy (the late Gary) Stagner, Joan (Paul) Hopkins, Sue (Otis) Newburn, Terry Rivers; 48 grandchildren; 74 great grandchildren; 23 great great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Johnny Boyington; sister-in-law, Ellarine Stewart; other relatives and friends. A wake will be held Thursday, January 7, 2016 from 6pm-9pm at Freeman Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 11am, Friday, January 8, 2016 at Calvert Baptist Church with Rev. Clay Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Frazier Cemetery in Citronelle, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of and memory of Mr. Frazier’s family members that have been diagnosed with cancer.
