Oliver Wayne Cole

Oliver Wayne Cole, a resident of Mount Vernon, Alabama, passed away at his home Wednesday, March 01, 2023.  He was 78 years old.  Wayne, as he was lovingly known, worked as a saw man in the pulpwood industry for many years.  He enjoyed baseball and his favorite team was the Boston Red Sox.  Most of all, Wayne loved his family, and they will greatly miss him.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Dunford and Janie Cole; siblings, Ester Cole, Charlie Cole, Roger Cole, Vester Cole, Curtis Cole, Delia Cole, James Cole, and Leonard Cole; and niece, Tiffany Jordan.

Those left to cherish his memory include his siblings, Voncille Byrd and Barbara Baugh (William); special nephew and niece, Christopher and Lindsey Cole; a host of other nieces and nephews; numerous great nieces and great nephews; other relatives; and friends.

A graveside service will be held for Wayne at 10am Monday, March 06, 2023, at Byrd Cemetery with Rev. Dunford Cole officiating.
