Ora Lee Savage, born on July 30, 1947, passed away on August 11, 2024, at Crowne Healthcare of Citronelle. She was a truly remarkable individual who touched the lives of many with very welcoming nature, kind heart, and generous spirit. Ora Lee known for her warm personality and her unwavering generosity towards others.
Upon reflecting on her life, it is evident that Ora Lee's proudest accomplishments revolved around her family. She was a devoted mother to her children, Willa Sean Merritt (Bull), Ladonnis Deann Merritt (Chad), and Troy Ladonnis Rivers. Her love extended to her grandchildren, Mandy (Tonio), Alishia, Courtney (Mickey), Charlie Jr., Tiffany, R.D, Shannon, Larry, Larue Jr., Gary, Destiny, Josalyn, Jaylyn, Gene, Robert, and Rob, as well as her twenty-nine great-grandchildren. Ora Lee's nurturing spirit and selfless nature ensured that her family always felt loved and cared for.
In her leisure time, Ora Lee indulged in hobbies such as shopping, playing poker, and cherishing moments with her siblings over cake and coffee. She found joy in dressing up and perfecting her makeup, embodying elegance and grace in everything she did.
Ora Lee was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward William Savage "Ed"; her daughter, Lois Marie Spears "Dimples" (Charlie, Sr.); her granddaughter, Taylor Spears; her parents, George "Monkey" and Sally Fountain; sisters, Faye Fountain, Carolyn Fountain, and Ada Shoemaker; and sister-in-law, Nancy Fountain.
While Ora Lee's physical presence will be deeply missed, her memory will be cherished by her living siblings, Jimmy Fountain (Tina), Bobby Fountain (Faye), and Buck Fountain, along with her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The services to honor and celebrate Ora Lee Savage's life will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024, at Freeman Funeral Home. A visitation will take place from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service with Bro. Dwight Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Gardens Cemetery.
Ora Lee will be remembered for her enduring love, her acts of kindness, and her legacy of putting family above all else. May her gentle soul rest in eternal peace.
