Paul Anthony Thompson, 64, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014 at his residence in Sims Chapel, Alabama. Paul served his country as a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Rifle Marksman Badge. He worked as a Pipe Supervisor for KBR for over 30 years and a member of McIntosh Baptist Church. Paul loved fishing, turkey hunting and Alabama Football. He was preceded in death by his mother, Melissa McIntyre and brother, Frank McIntyre. Left to cherish his memory his wife of 39 years Cynthia Nichols Thompson; son, Jason Paul (Veronica) Thompson; daughters, Stacy (Curtis) Thompson Mallon and Erica Mullen; grandchildren, Tyler, Michael, Nicholas, Mariah and Lauryn; brothers, Glenn Thompson, Bobby McIntyre and Larry McIntyre; sisters, Priscilla Motes and Gail Al-Obaid; other relatives and friends. A wake will be held Tuesday July 22, 2014 from 6pm-9pm at Sims Chapel United Methodist Church. Funeral service will be held Wednesday July 23, 2014 at 11am at Sims Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Otis Lister, Rev. John Stone, Rev. Ernest Tucker and Rev. Jimmy Butts officiating.
