Pete Ernest, Jr., 68, a native of Mobile, Alabama and resident of Gulfcrest, Alabama passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Providence Hospital. Mr. Ernest served in the United States Air Force for over 20 years, reaching the rank of Master Sergeant and served his country during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 164 and enjoyed different types of sports in his spare time. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete Ernest and Pearl Martin; sister, Dagma Rutherford; brother, Richard Ernest. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Michelle and Jennifer; two grandchildren; brother, David Ernest; sister, Candice Morgan; numerous nephews and nieces; other relatives and friends. A visitation will be held Saturday, August 6, 2016 from 9am until 10:45am at Freeman Funeral Home. The graveside service will begin at 11am in Pine Crest Cemetery with American Legion Post # 164 rendering the honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials in Pete’s name may be donated to the American Legion Post # 164. Online condolences may be given at www.freemancitronelle.com.
