Rev. Prentiss Taylor, 71, a resident of Grand Bay, Alabama, passed away suddenly at his home Saturday, February 27, 2016. He graduated from Woods College, Millsaps College, and completed local pastor studies at Emory University and minister for the United Methodist Church, Alabama-West Florida Conference. He was loved by many and will be truly and greatly missed by all who knew him. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 51 years, Rita M. Taylor; son, Jerry K. Taylor; daughter, L. Ann (Tim L.) Waters; grandsons, Jeremy A. Taylor, Justin B. Taylor, and Jeremy B. Stewart; granddaughter, Hannah L. Stewart; brothers-in-law, C. Keith Rivers and John Drew; sister-in-law, Reva L. Reed; devoted nieces, Angela B. Middleton and Michelle H. Weaver; devoted nephews, Thomas W. Holton and Greg Lofton; many other nieces and nephews; and many, many friends. The family will receive friends from 11am until 1pm Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church Funeral service will be held 1pm Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with Dr. Chris Eckert and Rev. Greg Nobles officiating. Burial will follow in Byrd Cemetery.
