Ralph Walter Byrd, Jr.

Ralph Walter Byrd, Jr., a resident of Mount Vernon, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018. He was 53 years old. Ralph was born December 21, 1964. Throughout his life, Ralph had a strong work ethic and would help anybody he could. In his spare time, he loved to coach football and root for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Ruth Byrd. Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Ashley Richardson (Timothy), Franklin Byrd (Kristina), and Ariel Byrd; six grandchildren, Kinsley, Kaylan, Chasen, Rykin, Tylan, and Kohen; siblings, Charlotte McKenna, Ester Mothershead (Doug), Rachel Roberts (Jim), Scott Byrd (Brenda), Lawrence Byrd (Tonya), and Michael Byrd (Lisa); and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 10am until the 11am funeral service Friday, September 28, 2018, at Freeman Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Byrd Cemetery.
