Raymond Levern Byrd

Raymond Levern Byrd, 63, a native and resident of Mount Vernon, AL, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Springhill Medical Center. Raymond was a retired chipper and an active member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Raymond enjoyed playing his guitar at church and while spending time with his family and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Mary M. Byrd; brothers, Lon Byrd and Charles Byrd; sister, Sallie Davis and nephew, Neal Sullivan. He leaves to cherish his memory, brother, Will (Brenda) Byrd; sisters, Lurenda Byrd and Lizzie (Alex) Weaver; five nephews, John Ed Sullivan, Alex James Weaver, Grant Reed, Mark Weaver and Larry Bohannon; four nieces, Hazel Johnston, Edna Presley, Teresa Weaver and Lisa Randall; other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 20, 2014 from 11am until the 12pm funeral service at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with Rev. George Weaver officiating.
