Rebecca Ann Rivers, a cherished member of her community and beloved family matriarch, passed away on August 22, 2024 at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center. Born on March 28, 1954, Rebecca was a strong-willed individual who devoted her life to her family and friends. She was a graduate of McIntosh High School and held a deep appreciation for her roots in McIntosh, Alabama.
Rebecca's personality shone brightly through her love for music, particularly her admiration for Elvis Presley. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including shopping excursions and dining out, but what she cherished most was the time spent with her family. Her family-oriented nature ensured that she was a pillar of support and love for those around her.
Rebecca is survived by her loving siblings, Lillie Steiner (Gary), Maxwell Rivers, Sr. (Nyoka), Connie Rivers, and Marian Rivers. She also leaves behind a treasured of nieces and nephews, Elisha Reed (Waylon), Jesse Rivers (Ashley), Kristin Weaver (Randall), Daniel Rivers, Maxwell Rivers, Jr. (Brandi), Patrick Rivers, Lauren Myers (Colby), and Brad Reed. Additionally, she will be missed by numerous other relatives and friends whose lives she touched with her warmth and kindness.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Carrie Rivers, as well as brothers Jesse Rivers, Danny Rivers, and Morris Rivers. The family also mourns the loss of her great nephew, Trent Rivers.
The family will receive friends on August 25, 2024 from 2:00 PM until the 3:00 PM funeral service at Reed's Chapel Baptist Church with Bro. Chad Orso, Bro. Sammy Rivers, and Bro. Nick Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Reed's Chapel Cemetery.
Rebecca Ann Rivers will be remembered for her indomitable spirit, her unwavering love for family, and the joyful moments she created with those fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of love and strength will continue to inspire all who carry her memory.
