Robert Ashley Lord

Mr. Robert Ashley Lord, age 67, a native of Mobile and lifelong resident of the greater Mobile area passed away Sunday, June 21, 2009 at Mobile Infirmary. He served in the Army after graduating from Semmes High School. Mr. Lord retired in 2002 as an ice cream manager at Dean's Food - Barber's Brown Dairy after 21 years of service. He was an active member of Citronelle United Methodist Church. The love of his life was his wife, children and grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and reading. He was a loving and gentle person and will be missed by all who knew him. Robert Ashley is preceded in death by his parents, Oren E. Lord, Sr. and Mildred Locke Lord; his sister, Barbara Lord McIntyre and his brothers, Raymond Lord and Oren E. Lord, Jr. He is survived by his wife Janeth Christine Davis Lord of Chunchula; Sons, James R. (Carol) Lord of Gulf Shores, John E. (Susan) Lord of Carrollton, GA, Jerry F. (Kristina) Watson of Wilmer, AL. Gregory W. (Tommy) Watson of Austin, TX, and Christopher A. (Tina) Watson of Navarre, FL; One Daughter, Jennifer (Adam) Stinson of Semmes, AL; Eleven Grandchildren, Tiffany, Brooke, Wyatt, Bennett, Lauren, Tyler, Micah, Mary, Tim, Brian and Amanda; His Brothers and Sisters, Malcolm Lord, Joyce Howell, Elsie Self, Mavis Christie, Martha Page, and Rosemary Crowley; Nieces, Nephews, Other Relatives and Friends. A visitation will be held from 1 PM until the 2 PM Funeral Service on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Citronelle United Methodist Church with Rev. M. Kathryn Knight officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Saraland, AL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Citronelle United Methodist Church Food Pantry, P.O. Box 125, Citronelle, AL 36522..
