Robert D Byrd

Robert D. Byrd, a resident of McIntosh, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at Mobile Infirmary. He was 55 years old. Robert loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He owned and operated McIntosh Trucking for 35 years. Robert was a devoted father and husband and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Sarah Byrd, Adrian and Gussie Lofton, and McArthur Byrd. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 37 years, Mary Byrd; children, Robert Byrd, Jr. (Jade) and Ruthie Lasha Byrd (Ed, Jr.); mother, Gennie Byrd; grandchildren, Reilli, Gracelyn, Alaina, and Cruz; and many more that called him Paw-Paw; siblings, Mack Byrd (Glenda), Mary Byrd, Zack Byrd, Jackie Byrd, Dennis Byrd (Amy), Elsie Weaver, Eva Holloway, Adrian Lofton, Jr., Rita Byrd, Amy Allday, Steve Lofton, Jack Lofton, Brenda Rivers, Neal Lofton, Lora Lofton and Angela Rivers; mother in law, Ruthie Weaver; aunts, Annie Weaver and Aunt Bea; special nephew, Roger; special nieces, Candice and Robin; a host of other nieces and nephews; best friends, Richard Davis, Jr., Don Cole, and Michael Weaver; and many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 11am until the 1pm funeral service Saturday, August 17, 2019, at McKenley Holiness Church with Rev. Jesse Byrd and Rev. Jackie Snow officiating.
