Robert Lee Walker, 77, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2015, surrounded by his family at his home in Citronelle, Alabama. He served his country in the United States Army and then worked with the Citronelle Unit until his retirement after 38 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 164 and was an active member at Calvary Baptist Church in Citronelle. Pop was a jack of all trades and a mechanic; he could fix anything if it was broken and always willing to help those in need. He loved to garden, enjoying and giving away the vegetables. Pop was particularly proud of his okra, watermelon, turnip greens, tomatoes and sweet potatoes. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most of all, Pop loved spending time with his family. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 54 years, Ava Jewel Walker; his sons, Robert (Janice) Walker, Mark (Donna) Walker, and Daniel (Shoney) Walker; his daughters, Ava Lee (Dennis) Minchew, Cynthia (Bubba) Blankinchip, and Barbara (Aubrey Roney) Walker; 15 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren; his sisters, Rosa Lee (Johney) Richards and Inez (Willie) Yeager; other relatives and friends.
