Robert Staunton Stone, a native of West Virginia and a long time resident of Tuscaloosa and Citronelle, Alabama died Friday, August 3, 2012 at his home in Citronelle with his wife and daughter by his side. Bob was born August 21, 1928 to Harry and Thelma Stone. He worked as a maintenance supervisor and electrician in West Virginia and Alabama coal mines. He was a member of Cedar Creek Church of the Brethren in Citronelle, Alabama. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, William, Donald and Ronald. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Goldie Puckett Stone; daughter, Brenda (Richard) Wright of Clifton, Virginia; granddaughters, Melissa (John) Taliaferro of Leesburg, Virginia and Stacey (J.T.) Kirkland of Sterling, Virginia; great grandchildren, Maddox, Sutton, Ellison, Wilton and Stone Taliaferro and Grey Kirkland; sister, Phyllis (Ray) Johnson of Leavittsburg, Ohio. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Cedar Creek Church of the Brethren with Sister Veronica Barnes officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association or Cedar Creek Church of the Brethren Building Fund.
