Robert Allison Walker, known affectionately as "Pick Box" for his playful nature, passed away on June 28, 2024, at USA Health Providence Hospital. Born on December 2, 1965, Robert lived a life filled with happiness, love, and humor that touched the hearts of all who knew him.
A devoted family man and a true joke at heart, Robert's joyous spirit was infectious. He took great pleasure in spending time outdoors fishing, hunting, tending to his garden, cheering for Alabama football, and sharing his favorite song "Delta Dawn" with those around him. Robert had a special talent for giving unique nicknames - from "Cupcake" and "Grubworm" for his adored grandchildren to "Snoopy" or simply "Jan" for his beloved wife.
Robert's proudest accomplishments revolved around his cherished family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Janice Walker; his children, Theresa Greathouse and Robert K. Walker; grandchildren, Christine and David Jr.; siblings, Cynthia Blankinchip (Bubba), Barbara Walker (Daniel), Mark Walker (Donna), and Daniel Walker; along with numerous other relatives and friends who will deeply miss him.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Walker; mother, Ava Jewel Walker; and sister, Ava Lee Minchew.
In the memories shared by those who knew him best, Robert will be fondly remembered for his kind and family-oriented nature. His laughter resonated in every conversation, and his warm presence will be dearly missed at gatherings where he would playfully pick with everyone.
A visitation to honor Robert's life will take place on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service at Freeman Funeral Home with Bro. Don Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Citronelle Methodist Cemetery.
Robert Allison Walker leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories that will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace knowing that he was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have been part of his life.
