Robert Wayne Blount

Robert Wayne Blount age 76, a native of Gulfcrest, AL, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family,on August 7, 2021.

Wayne retired from the Alabama States Docks after 41 years and was the care taker of Gulfcrest Cemetery. He served in the Army National Guard, coached Citronelle Youth Football and played men’s and co-ed softball for many years. He was a member of Gulfcrest Baptist Church and served as a deacon. Wayne enjoyed woodworking, gardening, cutting grass, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patsy Blount; Sons, Darrin (Wendy) Blount, Keith (Missy) Blount, and Todd Blount. Granddaughters, Megan (Jo) Weaver, Morgan (Jason) Williams, McKenzie Blount (Calob Daniels), and Andie Blount; Mother, Myrtle Blount, Brothers, Eugene Blount, Kenny Blount, andSister, Donna Cole. He is proceeded in death by his father Robert F. Blount.

Services will be held at Gulfcrest Baptist Church on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 visitation at 10:00AM followed by funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial and graveside service will follow at Gulfcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Jo Weaver, Jason Williams, Calob Daniels, Brent Newberry, Brad Thrower, and Kenneth Paul Cole. Honorary Pallbearers will be Megan Weaver, Morgan Williams, McKenzie Blount and Andie Blount.
