Roderick A. "Bro. Rod" Cantey, Jr., 69, of Citronelle, AL. passed from this life to eternal life in the presence of his Savior on Tuesday, March 27, 2012. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Judy Green Cantey; son, John Russell Cantey; sister, Jane (John) Landstedt; numerous relatives and friends. Bro. Rod, a Deacon at Bethel Baptist Church in Citronelle was known for his service to his church, its members and his Lord & Savior. He was a true leader through his example of being a servant. Bro. Rod will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. A Wake will be from 6-9 pm Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Bethel Baptist Church. Funeral Service will be 10 am Friday, March 30, 2012 at the church with Rev. Stan Clayton officiating. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations may be made to Easter Seals, The American Cancer Society or Bethel Baptist Building Program. The family also would like to express their deep gratitude to Springhill Health Care for their gracious care and support.
