Ronnie Dungan, 56, a native of Thomasville, Alabama and longtime resident of Mount Vernon, Alabama passed away Friday, March 05, 2021 at Springhill Medical Center. Ronnie worked as a sawyer at several lumber yards. He was a member of Calvert Church of the Nazarene. Ronnie was a guy that loved his God, his family, his Country and his Community. Ronnie along with his wife Gail, served countless hours serving others as members of The Mt. Vernon Rescue Squad. He also was a member of the Mt. Vernon Volunteer Fire Department. He loved playing the drums and singing a good ole Southern Rock or Country Song at the Gulf Coast Opry. What he loved the absolute most, was his wife Gail and his pride and Joy Devin!!! He absolutely loved watching Devin become a man and was at every performance of Devin’s while he played the drums (following in his dad’s footsteps) for The CHS Wildcat Marching Band. He was a man you could depend on whether it was working in the concession stand at the football games or hauling and loading equipment for the Citronelle Band Boosters. He enjoyed fishing and hunting in his spare time. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Jackie Dungan. Those left to cherish his memory is wife of 35 years, Gail Dungan; son, Devin Dungan; other relatives, his church family and friends. The wake will be from 6-9 pm Monday, March 08, 2021 at Calvert Church of the Nazarene. The funeral service will be 11 am Tuesday, March 09, 2021 at the church with Rev. Tim Sullivan officiating.
