Ronnie Gary Johnston, a beloved member of his community, passed away peacefully at his home on September 25, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 6, 1956, Ronnie lived a life marked by joy, warmth, and an outgoing spirit that left a lasting impact on everyone he met.
Ronnie was known for his cheerful disposition and happiness, qualities that endeared him to friends and family alike. He cherished the simple pleasures in life, particularly drag racing and race cars, which fueled his adventurous spirit. Those who knew him appreciated his love for family get-togethers, where he created countless memories with his loved ones.
Ronnie takes great pride in his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, who were his proudest accomplishments. He leaves behind his children, James Hobby, Heidle Reed (Nick), Gary Johnston, and Sharon Pressley (Charles). He was a devoted grandfather to Kayla, Ronnie, Karlee, Bryce, Kirstin, Brady, Logan, and Ethan, and cherished his role as a great-grandfather to Trey and Alayah. He is also survived by his sister, Rose Lewis Poole (Andrew); the mother of his children, Martha Johnston; nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends who will greatly miss him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Blake and Mable Johnston; his siblings, Connie Johnston, Denny Weaver, Johnny Weaver, and Ivory Weaver; and great nephew, Jeremiah Salinas. Their memories will be memorialized alongside his vibrant legacy.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on September 30, 2024, from 1:00 PM until the 2:00 PM funeral service at Magnolia Holiness Church with Bro. Joe Sullivan, Bro. Wilbert Reed, and Bro. Ike Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery.
Ronnie Gary Johnston will be remembered for his infectious enthusiasm and deep love for his family, leaving an indelible mark that will always resonate in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
