Roy Donny Reed

Roy Donny Reed, a native and resident of McIntosh, Alabama passed away peacefully at his home Sunday, January 17, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. Roy was 65 years old. He was a boilermaker for many years that had a love for hunting and fishing. When he wasn’t working or hunting, Roy filled his days with watching old western movies, watching football, eating, and napping. He also enjoyed chasing after dogs and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Roy was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Roy was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother, and sisters. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Dolly A. “Sister Bobbie” Reed; two daughters, Teresa Waldrup Merrill and Ronda Dorrine Reed Sims; four grandchildren, Rittie (Jarvis Poole, Sr.) Lewis, Joseph E. (Candace) Waldrup, Torri Waldrup, and Jericka (Jesse) Wells; eight great grandchildren; brother, L.T. Reed; sister, Nola Voncille Reed; nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends. A wake will be held for Roy from 6pm until 9pm Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at Freeman Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 2pm Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev.
